help with hen

Hen is making loud noises. almost like shes trying to crow. Whats going on? Has this happened to anyone else? any help is appreciated. Thanks

Next ... how old is your hen, is she laying, or did she just begin laying?

One of my friends that helped get me into chickens, has a hen that crows.
He only has three and no rooster.

One morning *Early morning, like 5*, he calls me to tell me his hen was crowing. She sure was too. Quite loudly. Difference is, a roo's crow is a real crow. A hen's is a pathetic sounding attempt.

Completly different story if this 'hen' hasn't started laying yet. He may just have a freak hen though.

There is one rooster and she has been laying for 6 months or so.
