Help with identifying hens breed

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me but that is 100% a Cockerel!

He does have wattles but they are smaller due to the fact he has a beard.
 
I agree that this bird looks to be 100% a cockerel... But OP said they actually watched it lay an egg. Could this be a case of pseudohermaphroditism? Does that even occur in poultry?
