Help! Walk me through this....My 55 Flowery Hen hasn’t laid in well over a week maybe even two ...I’ve kept an eye on how she was walking to make sure she isn’t egg bound but nothing seemed odd about the way she was walking or acting..her butt was fuzzy so I thought maybe molting? We have had a lot of changes lately in the coop...return of a hen that had been separated due to raising babies...gave away our Rooster....as well as moved 13 chicks into the coop but they are separate by chicken wire from the hens...this morning she’s laying, slightly dust bathing but wouldn’t get up as I approached..this is my hyper spunky girl who I have never seen lay down before...after a lot of encouragement she walked a few low steps then layed down again...it doesn’t seem like her legs though...I’m guessing egg bound and have seen you guys talk of epsom salt baths ..,so what’s the best way to do this? Also is there anything I should give her as well to eat/drink ...when I bring her in to do the bath I will give her water with infant multivitamins in it and oil of oregano just to help support her system...but anything else? Also I’m afraid to pick her up and rupture the egg if she is bound due to a post warning that I read last week , what’s the best/safest way to do this??
