Help! Mites killing my girl or egg bound?

In the last day one of my hens is showing she’s very ill. She is the most affected by mites that I have been treating all my girls for.
Inherited the girls four months ago and they were in a bad way. I realise the mites were in the coop and outside area and on the hens. I have been bathing the girls in a solution, that a knowledgeable guy in a farm shop told me to do, also spraying their outside area and coop. I’m putting Vaseline all over their legs. The Vaseline is working a treat their legs are looking a lot better. I can only, once a month, bathe them in the solution I was given but one of the hens is not responding at all this. Today I found her very poorly, not eating, hunching her wings up to her neck, shaking and doing an odd neck swing.
I’m not sure if they mites are killing her, or if she’s egg bound. I have no idea what to feel for if she is egg bound. Help would be appreciated please.

Welcome To BYC

What is the treatment you are using for the mites?

Possible the mites are causing a decline, but it also looks like she has some bloat or fullness/fluid in the abdomen. Do you know when her last egg was?

Inspect her abdomen below the vent between her legs where the feathers are missing, make sure there's no wounds or maggots.

Is she pooping? What's that like?

I'd make sure she's drinking and eating. Check her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight.

If you suspect she's having troubles with an egg, then give her 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet now, then once daily for a week. You can find this at stores like Walmart, CVS, etc.

Im in South Africa.
I’m using Efekto Malasol. On the packet it says the dip them in 20 L of water 20 ml of solution. I dipped them a month ago and it said on the packet if it’s a bad case of mites, which it is, then after one month dip again, so they were dipped again last week.
The last time I noticed her laying was last week.
I haven’t seen her pooping today.
She’s clearly very unwell and I’m sad for her, she’s a real character usually.
She’s been off her food today and I haven’t noticed water intake. I think I need to separate her from the others to be able to keep an eye on her more.
I’ll check over. She looks a bit bit grubby, as I often rub Vaseline on her where she is missing feathers. I must admit I haven’t been checking thoroughly to see if there are maggots.
Thank you for your reply it’s appreciated.

Here’s an update…
It’s water belly. I gave her a warm bath with some Epson salts and then with the help of my Gardener I drained as much fluid as I could. The hole without the syringe seems to be dripping nicely but with water belly you just never know how long they have. She did a big poop after I had drained the fluid. I will keep an eye on her. I also gave her some vitamin D3 and water. We’ll see how it goes.
Thank you for all your help.
Gigi
