help with my silkie

    i have 8 silkies all acting fine accept one it almost looks dead until you touch it and then it cherps and will stand for a second and then back down they are only a few weeks old ......the others are running around happy

    Hey, silkies8,

    You should probably pull the sick one and put it under a warmer lamp than what you're using now. You've probably been lowering the temperature as your birds have gotten older, but sick birds always need to be warmer than the healthy ones, for one thing, and for another, you don't want to chance it being contagious to the still healthy ones.

    Whatever's wrong with it is hard to say, but it sounds like you're doing everything right if all the others are doing fine.

    Look under the "Emergencies/Diseases" section in the Index for ideas about what might be wrong with this one. You've come to the right place for that!
