Help with new peacock!!

I just bought a 1 yr old peacock 2 days ago. I currently have 2 peachicks. We have him in our smaller chicken run so he can get used to where he lives. I would love to have him walking around the yard with the chickens but I'm afraid he will fly away. Should I clip his wings? My biggest concern is that he doesn't seem to be eating or drinking. I have chicken pellets that I don't think he's touched and there is crumble for the babies that I haven't seen him eat either. I've tried scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, bread, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, bananas, and blueberries. He has only eaten the blueberries. I haven't seen him take a drink of water either-there are 2 waterers in there too. I put him beak in the water and he didn't drink I don't know what to do. I am so worried. I watch him a lot!!! He is so sweet, he puts up with the peachicks riding on his back and cuddling with him!!! What should I do???

It is too late for you at this time, but every time you bring in a new bird to your property it should be put into isolation for at least a month for observation and deworming. In this particular case the bird will need to readjust to new surroundings, new pen mates, and new food. It will take time to adjust to the new surroundings, however, be watchful for signs of illness as stress will bring out secondary illness from a worm load that it would have not shown otherwise.

i would also have a fecal exam taken immediately on all new peafowl for coccidia which is an intestinal parasite that can be easily treated but very deadly.

Is there any harm to worm him without a fecal test? I didn't notice until I brought him home that he had lice so I already treated him and will re-check him in a week or so. I just noticed him eating some crumble! Now, if he will take a drink I think I'll feel better! So, is it also safe to say I shouldn't let him out of the run for quite awhile until he knows where home is??

@Bad Wolf - Unless it's really hot where you are, I'd say your new boy's posture is rather worrisome. That doesn't look like the stance of a healthy bird. Pea health experts???

As far as letting him out, how large is your property? Unlike chickens, and even with clipped wings, he can and will roam widely even if he knows where home is...

Oh no... !!! Now I really worried! Maybe a caught him in a weird angle??!! I hope he's ok, I paid $100 for him! He doesn't make any noises, is that a problem?? I don't want to bring him back we have about 3 acres, but only 1 acre is fenced in. We have LOTS of trees as our property abuts the woods. It was hot when I took that picture-maybe 70. What should I do??

About letting him roam, you'll want to think about things like: Do you have friendly neighbors? Do they have dogs? Are you near any busy roads? Because he won't stay on 3 acres. Peas are super nosy!

Regarding his health, is he eating/drinking more now? The worrisome part of his appearance is the fact that his wings are hanging down, and that he looks like he is hunched over. So let us know how he's doing, if he's active, pooping, etc. Probably someone here with more pea health experience will be able to give you some more educated advice about his condition.
