Help with Nigerian Dwarf Wether

Glad to hear, goats respond well to gentle kindness, which is funny because they can be so pushy, hopefully soon he will be knocking you down to get the food, then you can work on getting him away from you.

Always good to hear things progressing well!

With my new animals, goat or sheep or whatever, I teach them food only gets put in their bowls. (Except, sometimes, carrots which I might hold for them to make it easier to eat). But very quickly they learn that when I show up with a bag of treats, to turn and lead me straight to their bowls rather than jump up or hound me trying to get it straight from my hands. Very handy to teach that one!

They're not stupid, they're more than capable of learning to go to their bowl and wait for it, as well as a host of other 'tricks'. In some research sheep came just behind pigs on intelligence testing, and I believe that, because the sheep I've had are smarter than the goats I've had. But they're both quite intelligent species, given a chance.

Best wishes.
