This is my first time keeping chickens so I have little to no knowledge in guessing their sex. Can anyone help me in sexing my blue australorp? I am not quite sure of its age either, so any advise on either would be much appreciated!!!
A rooster would have a much bigger and redder comb by now, her small feet and thin legs and also the lack of shiny saddle and tail feathers also gave her away.
First - Wow, nice lacing. Blues rarely have good lacing except in Andalusians.
Second, definite girl. Boys will have solid dark blue wings, developing dark lustrous blue saddle feathers and hackle feathers, and a darker blue curved male tail, larger than the female's developing.
