Hey guys, I have been having some seriouse problems with my chickens and it all started when I bought a rooster at the flee market. I noticed some of my chickens sneezing and when I got a closer look at them their is a few that have almostblike foamy looking bubbles in the corners of their eyes and their eyes are swollen with runny noses! Their are a few that have decreased in eating and I dont know what I'm dealing with here!!! Any ideas would be great, I have treated with Tylan water soluble and they seemed to get better then it starts all over again:'(

8/23/15 Sun: FBCM 4 mo cockerel started one eye shut
8/24 15 Mon: Both eyes stuck shut and runny nose, wouldn't crow layed around listless all day and wouldn't eat or drink all day, runny white foamy with greenish poop

8/24/15: Monday night came home with Terra-Vet 10 and I probably overdosed him because I couldn't figure out the math of the dosage requirements. I put 50grms to a 16 oz jar. We forced with a syringe about 12 ozs of Terra-vet solution mixed with Durvet electrolyte-Vitamin mixture down his throat.

8/25/15: Got home tonight and he was up running around crowed two times, both eyes open. gave about 8oz and 3 syringes full of Non-fat plain yogurt again tonight.

Now my Red-star hen is coughing and gurgling so we will administer the same treatment as our Rooster but hopefully I figured out the proper dosage ratio today.

I also made up a half-gallon jar (1 tsp) of terra-vet 10 / durvet electrolytes vitamin mixture and put it in 2 gallons of the other chickens water so they will have some preventative treatment just in case.

and wont eat their eggs for 2 weeks (although the package says 4 days).

I ordered some oxine (animal bleach) online and this weekend I will disinfect their entire area. Plus some sulmet to put in their water but they say not to use it the same time as your using the antibiotics.

By the way my Rooster acted today with an overnight dose by running crowing jumping etc...It seemed to work and I will probably treat him for a few more days.
