Help with what to do with roosters that can't be eaten?

Black skin--not really appetizing--yes Orientals in some areas do eat them. You will not be able to keep the roosters together very long. Most are gentle, some are NOT. They are individuals , but togetherness for cockerels--if there are hens within sight--is not their thingy! Good luck. find homes--you can ship them Express Mail,or Prioriiy Mail in legal containers, when they are 4-5 months old or older

I understand your concerns... I was that way once myself. I will not give away my extra roosters nor sell them. (I routinely give birds away to my friends who want them as chickens). Early on, I did sell a few birds that I assume were going to be eaten. They were put in a cage and into the back of a truck and off they went. I was not happy with that solution so I learned to kill them myself and eat them. Because I do not want them used as targets for cockfighting, and someone else eating them is OK in theory, but they could be mistreated or treated callously before their deaths. When I kill them it is quick and as merciful as such a thing can be. They don't see it coming. And I have gotten pretty quick and efficient at it. I will say, the longer you wait, the tougher them birds will be. And if I cull an adult two or three year old rooster, I usually just bury him. I know it is a waste. The best I can do is make it quick. I think if you are going to have chickens, you have to come to grips with that reality because otherwise, you will be overrun with chickens, and sometimes you have to kill one or two It is part of responsible animal husbandry.
