Help with wry neck

I would give one tab of the vitaminE twice a day as for the selenium you have to be careful because too much can be toxic so for my 2 pound bird I take one pill and quarter it into fours then I crush up one of the fourths and sprinkle it on her food once a day. If your bird is smaller than 2 pounds I'd consider cutting the
tablet into 6ths if possible crushing up 1/6th of the
tablet once a day because you don't want to give too
much selenium. However its still an important part of the treatment for the absorbtion of the vitamin E
You should take a look at Alan Stanford's treatment for wry neck online and look at his doses for a two pound bird then adjust for your birds weight. This is best
His web site is browneggblueegg.com once you get to his page on the left side is a glossery
Look up crook neck as he calls it then press it
It will take you to a week by week treatment plan including exact doses
Remember those doses are for a two pound bird so you must compensate and adjust for your birds weight
Because you don't want to over do it with the selenium or the predinsone if your using predinsone. If you.can not get ahold of predinsone I suggest you use fish oil to replace it. Fish oil is a natural steroid and can be put into the food. This will help with brain swelling. You may also elect to use BAYER children's
Aspirin once daily. Small bird 1/2 of a Bayer children's low dose aspirin would work
This is also for brain swelling. I hope this helps. Any questions at all feel free to pm me and I'd be happy to help. Is your bird eating on her own? Drinking? Will she eat if the food and water are brought up to her beak? How is she doing today? Can she hold her head up at all?

My red is mostly back to normal, I treated him with vitamin E once a day, I squeezed it from a capsule and tried to get it in his beak but he probably actually only got a third to a half of what was actually in the pill. And I gave him a few drops of poly vi sol 3 times a day, he was straightened right out in less than a week. I didn't use selenium or vit B complex as I didn't have any. I did use Sav a Chick electrolyte in the water.

I'm so happy to hear this! Wonderful news! My Milly lifted her head yesterday so I hope she is also improving! This is great news !

I wanted to give you an up date on Chong, she seems to be doing better, still cant walk, falls over a lot, but is now eating more on her own(outta a bowl), i hold it to her she bobs her head like those glass birds years ago, that dipped in water, I'm still syringing her a little, I have to take her to work, I carry her in a box, the first day she flipped and was falling all over the box so I put her on the seat next to me and she laid her head against my leg and was fine,I now cover the box with a towel to travel, I'm hoping she comes outta this OK, she is standing longer periods of time, but looses control and tips forward or over backwards. Is that normal? she squeaks at me, I hope she not in pain
