I noticed yesterday that my 14 week old Araucana hen was acting like she was OCD or like she has a crazy case of ADHD. She runs around like she does not know where she is going and she keeps her head down pecking the ground for food at all times. She was fine a few days ago. Now out of the blue she is acting like she is crazy. Her legs splay out some like her balance is off and she shakes a little if and when she stands still. I am going to put her in the chicken ER we have and was thinking of giving her a B12 injection. ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE SO GREATLY APPRECIATED

Can you post a video of her - I believe you have to upload to youtube, then post the link here?
Do you think she is having seizures?

It's possible is she is acting that crazy, separating her may stress her out even more, but you will have to judge that once she is separated.

Check her over for lice/mites, head injury, look in her ears for any debris/infection, check to see if her nostrils are clear.
It could be that she may be suffering from something neurological - was she vaccinated for Marek's?

I checked for mites and lice there are none we just had our coop redone and cleaned for the year and they sprayed it for all bugs. I left them out of the main coop for 3 days like the exterminator suggested and put them in a holding pen I have. She is new to my flock and she has not been vaccinated. Also she is half the size of her sisters. I will get a video of her and post it then link it here today. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL! Can they have a type of down syndrome?

I was wondering if maybe the insecticide they used could have caused this? They used the Permethrin in the coop but i did not spray my chickens we found no lice on them they have great dust spots all around our farm could that maybe be the cause of this???

What are you feeding her?

Permethrin is commonly used to treat external parasites in poultry and livestock.
I suppose if she ate or drank it, it would be harmful, but generally if you followed the exterminator's direction, it should be safe. I would think, that if it was not done correctly, it would have affected your whole flock.

You may want to call them to see if they have any ideas.

Did she go through a quarantine period before you added her to your flock? Since she is new to you, she may have had an underlying illness that presented due to stress (going to a new home, being introduced to new chickens, etc.).

Do the best you can to keep her hydrated, offer poultry vitamins to her water - look for vitamins that have E and B along with Selenium. After she is drinking well, offer her normal food (chick starter/grower) along with some chopped egg or tuna to see if she will eat.
