Help

The crop is a pouch just under the skin at the front of the chest/neck over to their right side that chickens fill up with food through the day and it slowly releases the food into their digestive tract overnight.... a bit like an enclosed hopper or funnel. In the morning it should be pretty much empty until they start filling it again. Chicks about 5-6 weeks of age seem to go though a phase when they really stuff it full of food and it protrudes from the chest like they swallowed a golf ball, but obviously feels slightly softer and granular, because of the feed it contains.

What ever you do, do NOT try to drain the "lump"....I'm thinking as rebrascora, it's probably the crop. You can stop feeding & see it the "lump" disappears.

How old is it? What kind of feed are you feeding it? Is it a single chick or part of a group? How have you given it warm water?

I'm wondering if the "stuffy" nose is caused by getting water in it's sinus.

Good thinking! Or perhaps in it's windpipe. You have to be very careful force feeding chickens, not to get any down the trachea, which is the hole in the centre of the tongue.
Any food/water should be aimed at the right hand corner of the chicks mouth and angled downwards.

My baby chick is very sick and I can't figure out what to do. He has a stuffy nose and can barely move, I've been feeding him plain yogurt and warm water because he hasn't been eating but nothing's working and he's still extremely sick can someone please help?

Unfortunately my baby chick passed away:( I was up all night trying to figure out what to do but he just kept getting more sick and not any better. Not until 4:30 in the morning I found a thread that made it clear he had sour crop. I ran him to the bathroom and emptied his crop like the instructions said but he died soonly after. Thank you for everyone who tried to help it's greatly appreciated
