HELP!!!

What a blessing!

This is the best thread ever!

Have you unplugged the egg turner?---> sorry just went back and seen where you said that you did!

We test some questionable eggs in a bowl of lukewarm water and watch for bobbing and ripples from internal movement. Would that work for duck eggs?

How amazing!

So after a few hours, no progress, but they were screaming. So I went and checked again. The pip hole was the same size.

I know most people frown upon it... but I took them out and looked them over. They looked stuck, not really shrink wrapped like I have seen before, it's odd to explain.

I chipped around where the normal pip line would be. No blood or vessels at all, completely dried up and looked old! I have never seen anything like that before. Maybe they were in there longer than I thought, definitely ready to come out. So I continued, and as soon as I freed them up some they popped the cap right off. And I put them in the other hatcher/brooder/spare incubator. They are doing great!!

I will post pictures, but the dark spots I am pretty sure were dried up blood. The white membrane under the shell was black and had clear liquid in some spots, and that is where the dark blotches came from.

I just squealed at work....

It usually does take days! They hatched not even attatched to the shell! Most I have seen will be attatched to half the shell for hours after they hatch. And will just lay around until it drops.

These were not even attatched to the shell at all! I am starting to think they have been trying to hatch for at least 24 hours before this. I have never seen one make it this long, and have no blood vessels or umbilical attachment during hatching??

They just broke free and crawled off like they were grown. Already pecking like crazy at everything. Like they are hungry already??

And just because some of y'all are this caught up in them now, I thought I would share my dumb moment.

I looked at their feet and it looked like something was stuck to the bottom of them?? I was getting scared, I had no idea what it was!! Until I realized...Ducks have webbed feet. I guess that's what stress will do to you hahaha. :lau

Cant wait for these little cuties to fluff up! They are already trying to run around. Haha
