Hello, we had 30 hens and no roosters at all. Our only bantam has been broody lately. Today I cracked several of her eggs and they appear to be fertilized. How could this be possible?

Two possibilities. You have a very sneaky rooster, or you're mis-identifying fertile eggs. Unless you cracked open the eggs to find veins and a tiny chick embryo, I'd like to see pictures of them.

If you did crack open developing eggs, it would be a more productive use of your time to see if you can spot a rooster.
