i let my 5 ducks go into my pond now i can’t get them out! they can go on land but the whole pond is fenced in and there is steps (way to big for ducks) so they just stay there and run into the water when i try to get them! i’ve tried traps, sneaking up on them, and i still can’t catch them!!! they are all pekins so they can’t fly so i’m worried they’ll freeze in the winter since i can’t put their coop in the pond! anyway to save them?

Borrow a boat, or buy an inflatable pool and use it as a little boat. Get a fishing net, one of those with a long handle like a broom, and scoop up the ducks.

the pond is to small to get a boat into it and i don’t think my parents would buy me a pool just to put in the pond to get the ducks (i’m only a teen so i have to listen to what they say)

your going to need some help, do you have a canoe or row boat you could use cheap fencing make a shoot on shore herd the ducks up to it and have some one to catch them once you get them on land. Or if the pond isn’t very deep walk out and get behind them and herd them but you are still going to need help.

even if we get just one my mom and dad will not let me keep just one overnight because then she cries for the other 4 which attracts the coyotes. i’m worried they’ll have no escape from predators once the pond freezes (the pond takes a rly long time to freeze enough for it to be safe for humans to walk on it

it gets up to 10 feet deep in the middle. i would not be allowed to use a boat or kayak to go into the pond. i’ve tried hearding them up but it never works since they just go back into the water then just completely stay in the water until i leave.

Ah well that's a bad situation. If I was a teenager (rules and stuff, no money etc) I'd try to find a long pole. Like a PVC pipe? And rig up a net using wire coat hangers and a old shirt. Then try to reach the ducks. How big is this pond? Can you put on some old clothes and try to swim or wade out to them? If you have a live trap you could try to make a little raft on a rope, bait the cage trap with something the ducks would like and one the duck is caught, drag the raft back.

we tried the trap and they won’t go into it at all. as far as swimming, the pond is filled with duck poop from my ducks as well as wild ducks poop so i would not swim it it . the pond is big enough that the pole probably would not work. i’m worried if i leave them be until it starts getting cold they won’t like me anymore. they were born in january and i haven’t been able to catch more than one duck more than once a week and only keep them for a few minutes. also i have the 4 boys and 1 girl and they keep chasing her so i’m worried about her!
