That is normal. The chick will likely still be absorbing the yolk and veins. It can sometimes be a long process, the best advice I was given was “sit on your hands…let nature take its course”Hey i was wondering if this guy should have been out already? He pipped around 8 hours ago. At 8PM it’s 3:36am now and still around the same progress
Yeah little update here, chick cane out in the morning around 8. I had been worried though because last time I’ve hatched in incubator they came out fast after first pip. That is normal. Fingers crossed this works for you. I recently tried to do this. My hen had just hatched 2 chicks, then on the same day I hatched 2 in the incubator. I tried to get my hen to adopt them, it seemed to be going well for the first couple of hours, then she just started attacking them. It was like she knew they weren’t hers. One of our members advised me to try putting them under her of a night, but this didn’t work for me either. Good luck, keep a watchful eye and let me know how it goesI’ll try sitting both under momma once they both are out and dry
See i had him under her already and was fine but since the other chicks were 2-3 days ahead she was already walking around and this chick was stumbling to even get up. If anything I’ll just throw them in with the other chicks that are in the brooder.Fingers crossed this works for you. I recently tried to do this. If she has already accepted him, I would stick with it, it is amazing how quickly chicks catch upSee i had him under her already and was fine but since the other chicks were 2-3 days ahead she was already walking around and this chick was stumbling to even get up.
