Hello, I’m a first timer. This silkie egg has been this way now for 48 hours. The chick is still moving/breathing. Its position hasn’t changed. Beak has been in this hole the whole time. Do I intervene??

It was opening and closing it’s mouth a lot yest, only have seen it once or twice today.

If I open the incubator do I need to do it in a steamy bathroom?

Ok, I thought it could get shrink wrapped if I take it out. Should I give it some more time before chipping the shell away?

just go slow. if you see blood, then stop.

This is what we were able to do. We stopped when we saw a tiny bit of blood. I put light pressure on it and it stopped. Put it back in the incubator.

Its looking good. I would give it about another hour or so and then begin again, if the chick doesn't make it out on its own.
