Help!

I have my two ducks and my six hens together and in the last few days my male duck has been attacking one of my hens. And it just the one. My hens aren't even old enough to lay yet. I have them separated for now until I find out why this is happening. Has anyone had this issue? If so what did you do to correct it? I'm afraid he is going to hurt her or even kill her.

You can’t correct it, it is just what drakes do. Some are fine when in a large enough area, but many are not. He will only continue to be rough and attempt to mate her which will destroy her insides either permanently damaging her or killing her.

Because drakes often need several females at least to keep them happy even then some are just grubby little things that will mate anything they can catch.

Drakes will try and mate with anything. Some boys are calm enough to only have one hen but most need at least 4 or more to keep them satisfied. You may need to build a separate pen to keep your ducks and chickens separate and get more females for your drake. Or you might need to rehome him and get another female duck. Either way, he should be separated from your hens so he doesn't cause them any further injuries.

i have a friend who had same as you several hens and only two ducks her Drake not only killed two of the chicken hens but He also killed his female duck friend by overmating.

I think that drakes can smell which girls are the most fertile and they go after them

Males like to choose favorite hens to breed.
