Help!!

I came home today to my two year old Black Swedish Hen, named Maggie, lame and having issues moving, almost as if she is egg bound.

She still has an appetite, is interested in preening, and is currently in the bath (also dosed with meloxicam).

Is this egg binding or something different? She’s from a flock of 17 other ducks (four males) and three geese (one male emden). Any ideas? I’m at a loss and she’s one of my favorite gals….

They’re fed Kalmbach Duck and Geese and are provided oyster shell consistently

This is interesting to me, as my Blue Swedish girl named Dashi just went through something similar, about 4 weeks ago. She was laying around the duck pen, not following her flock, panting heavily. Her tail was bobbing up and down with each breath--it almost looked as if she was trying to push an egg out. Someone had laid a soft-shelled, misshapen egg a few days prior, so I assumed she was egg bound. I gave her calcium glutamate with frozen peas (which she wouldn't eat), palpated her abdomen (didn't feel anything), and even did an internal exam (where I also didn't feel anything). I thought for sure we were going to lose her. Then one morning about a week after symptoms started, I noticed she was following the flock again and didn't seem to be panting so hard. She gradually got better over the course of a week, and she's fine now. This has happened to her twice now, and she will be two years old in November.

It’s so weird! Mine is currently being babied and given lots of TLC so I’m hoping for the best!
