I have 2 hens and a roo, the hens started laying about a month ago, and have laid everyday since. I have them on all flock for my roo, and they ALWAYS have access to water, grit and oyster shell. Yesterday, later in the afternoon, one of my hes was acting tired, so i kept an eye on her and a hour or 2 later, she laid a shell less egg..THEN the other hen laid a shell less egg too about 15 min later! Both hens laid normal eggs yesterday morning, and im just a bit confused as to why it happened, especially when they have all the necessities..and also why BOTH did it, with only one acting different. This morning theyre acting normal, thank god! Thanks in advance!

If they've been laying for a month they're still relatively new to it, so glitches aren't uncommon. I wouldn't sweat it unless it turns into a more frequent issue.

Have you seen signs that the oyster shell is being eaten?
Occasionally, they eat the oyster shell, but they prefer their own shells, which I boil and dry, then feedback to them
