i got a RIR with a small hole pecked in him rite below the vent i put some a A&D ointment on him but i dont know if it was the rite thing to do. there 2 other chicks that staying after him but has stoped since i put the ointment on him what should i do im new to chickens frist chicks

You may be looking at the "belly button" or naval as they call it. It is where the umbilical cord was attached in the egg. As long as the others don't peck it, it will be just fine, dry up, and heal in a few days.

You need to remove him from his buddies until the sore heals. Otherwise they will probably pick him to death.

thanks they dont seem to the buging him rite now. See he had poo stuck to him i cleaned it off and that seem is started i think that were were pecking at the wet hair.

will the A&D hurt the other chicks
