Help....

I believe my turkey (hen) swallowed a square plastic bread tie and now she keeps gagging. It kind of looks like she is going to throw up. I dont feel anything in her throat. Any suggestions on how to help her dislodge it?

Without doing surgery to her crop to remove it, I don't know. If you can feel it in her crop, you may be able to grab it and fold it in half to make it easier to move throu. If it is still in her throat, you can try giving her some corn oil and massaging it down......just a small amount. If she seems like it is stuck higher in her throat, you can try holding her up by her feet and lightly pressing on her crop and see if she will throw it up. Only do it in short amounts, as you don't what her to aspirate, and make sure her head is downward to it comes out her mouth.

She seems to be ok....I couldnt feel it in her throat at all. Yesterday and today she is back to her old self again. Thanks for the suggestions!

well if she's doing better today that probably means its gonna come out the other end
