HELP!!!

If the crop is full and you are concerned he/she may have an impaction, work it with your fingers, and feed the chick apple cider vinegar. If she gets tons worse, I can teach you how to operate and take out the impaction; but only consider that if you are sure he/she is impacted.

I seriously doubt a two-day old chick who has been able to eat much, if anything, has an impacted crop.

I was faced with this problem four weeks ago when I got my five hatchery chicks. One was very small and feeble, could barely stand and walk. By the third day, it wasn't eating anything and I couldn't even get sugar water down it. It was getting to that point where it was too weak to eat.

In desperation, I got some tofu from my fridge, mashed it up, and set it in front of the chicks. I knew from past experience, the sick one stood a better chance of eating if I left it in with the others since they would encourage it to eat. Tofu is easily digestible and high in protein.

To make a long story short, the tofu saved Miss Mini's life. I got Poutlry Nutri-drench, a powerful chicken supplement for sick chickens, and sprinkled it over moistened chick feed every day, continuing to alternate it with the mashed tofu. She's still smaller than the others but is growing and doing very well.

You might want to try the tofu and nutri-drench. What you may have is simply a chick who is starving because it can't digest the chick feed.
