Denise - mind you that my expertise on this goes so far as having had our own baby chicks two weeks ago, so I don't know that my advice is worth much...

What we did for those "man down" chicks is take a small syringe and mix tepid water with some sugar. Gently drop little bits of that in her mouth every 15 minutes or so, being careful not to drown her.

Do you have Gro Gel? We hand fed some of our weak chicks that mixture, and it seemed to help.

I also saw where someone recommended some scrambled egg. We didn't have any luck with that with the one chick we tried it on.

Hope she picks up! The water/sugar mixture helped quite a few of our weak chicks.

Does the chick have a comb big enough for you to see if it's blueish?
Is the chick foaming at the mouth?
How does it's poop look?
How long has this been going on?
Can you feel the chick's crop?

A good thing to keep on hand for that kind of situation is Rescue Remedy. I'm sure sugar will work just as well. Sounds like she's beyond stressed (hopefully) . Make sure she has access to water( with electrolytes if poss.) when she does start moving around.

The chick is 2 days old. no foaming at the mouth. I have not seen a poop yet.

Hi, are you sure she is eating and drinking okay? Some chicks don't really come out right, due to conditions in the incubator. I would suggest contacting the location you purchased the chicks from, I'm sure they'd be willing to give you a credit. A small token to be sure, but something is something.

i just had a friend who lost her favorite girl cause her crop had filled up with water and she basically drown... she started breathing real hard and acted sick wouldnt move just lay around

Ok so we got some protein water in the baby and now the crop is swollen...any suggestions now?
