HELP

I agree with muskuslove they look Scovy and look like who ever had them was not caring for them properly. Make sure they have a good quality feed with at least 20% protein it will help get their feathers beautiful. Plus they also love bugs. slugs, spiders, frogs mice. you name they most likely will eat it. They'll even eat small snakes.

please post pics as they grow, love to see what color they turn out to be. and you'll love this breed they are like puppies in feathers, even wagging their tails.

I agree they definitely had a scovie look, and not 2 mths old either, i would try some oats too and BOSS both great for feathering.

As ML said would love to see updates!

they are skinny the man who had them only fed them watermelon
i can already se a change in their condition ie feather growth
they seem to enjoy melon, apples, oats, sweetcorn(canned) and not much else ,thought they were eating sunflower seeds but looks like they always leave them
also the man said they were both females.....hoe do i know for sure
thanks tracy

Mine aren't real fond of sunflower seeds either. The best way to tell drake from duck is by growth, the duck will be small petite more so than the drake, in the next 2-3 weeks if you have a drake he'll begin to out grow the duck. Legs will be thick and longer body. Ducks are more roundish through body someone said compare to a Football in shape. legs are thinner and when they walk they look like they may step on their own feet.

Hi, Tracy --- WOW! Only watermelon. Poor lil' things; lucky to be alive. And lucky to have you!

Hopefully, they were finding some things on their own. Insects are very high in protein.

I agree w Muskuslove, Miss Lydia & Going Quackers above.

I am concerned if their diet that you are feeding them now is high enough in protein. What kind of oats are you giving them? For humans or from the pet / feed store?

Take Care! :)

They are the same. And what does it look like outside your house? Is it fenced...? Are there predators? Muscovy`s will stay close to the hand that feeds them, but since they are so small, i should not let them wonder around in a open aria. Having sad that, it`s good for them to forage. What way are you keeping them now?

When they are older, you can let them wander around easely. They won`t go far.

sorry to be a pain but is a scovie a muscovy or iss it a different breed x
Same breed we that own them or vise versa call the scovy's too. and when you mean roam around where and what's it like? fenced?protected from predators? Duckling/ducks have no way to protect themselves from any kind of pred. and dogs are one their #1 enemies
