Wind, high humidity and heat. Poor chickens are walking around panting with their wings held out.

I am ready to throw in the towel and get rid of all the birds today. I am tired of wet, yucky mud and slim. The sun came out today the flies showed up

I think they have cocci now and I can't find anything to treat it around here except medicated chick starter.

I have never fed medicated because I have all ages mixed together. I think it is the younger ones that are affected by it. They have medicated feed out there now.

The medication in the food doesn't make them immune. Chicks are more sentitive to it because their immune systems aren't fully developed yet so they medication in the feed kills it if they catch it. Any bird can get it if there is enough of it around or thier immune system is down.

The flies here are bad as well because they are seeking water.
