Well, they aren't very good at showing my set up. I was taking pictures of the chicks.

Fence to the left. I had the door open and the chicks came out to play on Momma jungle gym.

This shows the sectioned off area of the run. I didn't have a broody hen, so the chicks are on their own. They needed some space in the run separate from the older hens.

yeah, a pen inside a pen,.

any pictures?

This was an impromptu evening build after one of the new chicks was pecked and left unconscious. The fence posts were temporary, the structure was an A-frame roost I had built from pallets. I've used it for a second brood, and a sick hen shelter.

The plastic chicken fencing is great, I just flip it out of the way when the brooder is not being used.

I've also used a modified dog crate, three times.

This is from my first time, day old chicks brooded outside without a hen in late February. No losses.

Are you still doing the pottery ?
Thanks for letting us know but Please stop by once in a while 🙏
Actually, I had surgery recently to remove a lipoma near those ribs I fell on. So since Oct 9th I have been dealing with pain. The surgeon did a crappy job sewing me up, so I have a big roll of skin just under my breast. Not good for wearing undergarments! Hope to get the area repaired properly in the future.
