I find the livestock prices are low only when I am selling..
I have a difficult time working with gloves on, too.. except when pulling out unwanted raspberry plants..
tomorrow we are going to our favorite nephew's wedding..
starting at 2 PM, have no idea how long it (or I) will last..

well the wedding was great, they held the ceremony outside in a black walnut grove.
it was chilly, but bearable.
then we moved inside and ate a sit down meal and had a few beers.
Then we danced a couple of dances.
Annie and I won the elimination dance.
It was for married couples only.
then they call out if you were married 5 years or less. all those couples had to leave the dance floor. then he called 10 years of less, etc, etc,
it came down to my brother and me..
he finally bot the dust at 37 years..
then the caller went up the list. He finally got to our years.. 55 years in Sept..
He said that he was just married 3 weeks ago. what was our secret ? I told him I learned early on how to say, "yes, dear"..
we left at 9 PM..

I am getting ready to set up the run for the guineas. They are living in half the hoop coop. I bought a 10x10 dog run, used. Today i washed the bottom pipe, then spray painted it silver. Looks much better. Then i cut up the downed trees laying in the area where i will set up the run. Hope to get it set up soon.

I am assembling a dog run for the guineas, what a chore. Lots of downed trees to get rid of. I did get 2 panels up yesterday. One more to add, then lashing wire to the top.

I set up a dog kennel for guineas, I acquired 6 panels. one with a door.
I put 1" pvc along the top . made them long enough to cause them to bow up.. then I stretched chicken wire over the top.
all around the bottom I attached 2ft high chicken wire to keep the small chicks in and most predators out.. It has served me well over the years. I had dogs, guineas, call ducks, chicken chicks, in it..
I used to move it by dragging it with the tractor once in awhile..
I am going to put it on craigs list..

this morning we arrived at the hospital at 6;15AM.
Annie spent from 8 AM to 10 AM in surgery. they discharged her at 3PM.
they disconnected the upper part of her heart from the lower part. reprogrammed her pace maker to take over the beating of her heart completely.
the initial readings were very favorable.
good blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen level.
if the battery ever fails, she will die instantly.. but it is still better than having her heart beating over 110 times a minute..
she is doing well and feeling great.

How often will Annie have to get it checked for a low battery? Scary but better than the alternative.
Prayers

we have monitors in the house that sends data constantly to a computer bank at the company where the pace makers are made.
and besides that the pacemaker is checked about twice a year..
they can tell how much life
(no pun intended) is left in the battery..

Best wishes for your wife!

I started lashing the welded wire on the guinea run today but i ran out of flexible metal clothes line and it started raining. It is supposed to rain a lot here tomorrow! Up to 6"! That is nuts! I have been building a lot of feeders, so when i have my surgery there will be less work for DH tending the animals.
