good morning,
no rain for two days. gave me time to relube and tune up the rototiller.
I got the tomatoes tilled, tilled up some ground along the green house to plant pole beans, and I tilled up the rest of the garden down by the road. I planted 31 hills of buttercup squash. that is how many seeds I had. put them 30 inches apart in rows 60 inches apart. If they grow really good, I will snip the ends so they don't crawl all over the place.
I did not till the corn. it is only 1 1/2" tall and there are no weeds yet..

got the onions and potatoes in late april... the tomatoes and peppers in around the 1st of june...too wet here still.. I was able to put some zukes in a raised bed last week.. basically I am a month behind on planting.
one area I haven't been able to get to to mow all year... had some wild mallards and a green heron in the bottom land.

I am done planting, pole beans, corn, buttercup squash and tomatoes.
supposed to rain tonight. so I didn't water in the squash or pole beans.. now just watch the rain bypass us..
I used to be able to plant the whole garden in a single day. now I struggle to do just one row..
getting old and sore really sucks..
I did luck out on one thing. the tractor started on it's own. I left it in the hot sun.
it probably dried out and the heat helped the battery to kick out enough voltage.

So far I can deal with the sore part. I miss my memory. I used to have this amazing memory, my job depended on it, now if I don't have it saved to the computer hard drive or written on some bit of paper it seems it's in one ear and out the other.

yeah, I have trouble remembering,
and I have trouble remembering..

I got up this morning with the intention of doing nothing. almost noon and I am all caught up..
I have CRS too.. can't find anything, used to know where everything was, very annoying

heard a noise and the gas company was changing the neighbors meter/valve assembly. .. the 2 neighbors up and mine had screws that broke off when they were changing the dial that is read to a digital that sends a signal. .. said mine wasn't on the list.

neighbor was saying that he kept getting poison ivy and was going in for a pacemaker on July 3rd.. he can't walk more than 100 ft.. asked if I could go with him and show him where the PI was so he could avoid it. I said I would make with tape where it was at.... ummm where did I put that tape :rant... decided it was quicker to grab the loppers I use on PI on walk his fence line... he had a lot.

I have collected wood chips from a tree trimming company that the phone and electric company hires. they are always looking for a close by place to dump the chips.
my last delivery was a few years ago. I ended up with a few truck loads. had a huge pile. most of it was green. I just turned the pile a couple of times each summer. the pile has shrunk to about half the original size.
It is well rotted now. looks and feels like black dirt.
now I can start using it.
The phone lines are buried, and now the electric company is in the process of burying their lines. so that will end my chances of getting any more wood chips..
I will have to be really selective where I use the ones I have..
I estimate the pile as it is to be about 10 cubic yards..maybe a little more..
