I started organizing the shelves today.
I told Annie what I was doing. She said,
Oh good, it's about time somebody did.
I have to come up with some bins like I have my nails and screws in. I want to put potatoes and onions in them.
We buy small quantities of them and we use them up before they spoil or sprout.

well, I don't know about that , Art.
Maybe she just resigned herself to the fact that I am doing it and she can't do anything about it from where she is at ..

:gig Well, you'd know better than I...maybe she'll just put it all back the way she wants once she's up and running again.

Lost a hen. She went lethargic a couple days ago.
Isolated and tried to give vitamins yesterday but she wouldn't eat or drink.
Found uterine infection and calcification mess.
Her shelling function was always funky, sometimes seriously so,
surprised she lasted as long as she did.
She laid a couple of these last spring/summer.
Hope it doesn't gross y'all out too much.

it takes a lot to gross me out.
that first picture looks like coconut husk.
I'll bet she squawked when she laid that..
She may have, heard some squawking out in run, they were all checking it out, so I went out and found it...thought it was a rock at first. She laid a few of her regular tho still funky eggs, then another of these, then more 'normals'. She never laid frequently and eggs were always torpedo shaped, no good for hatching....sometimes thin and/or wrinkled. But she seemed fine until a couple days ago. Another weird thing about her, she could never grow out any tail feathers.

Those are weird, poor girl.
I have a hen that lays long torpedo eggs. I hatched one just to see, it died about a week after hatching. I kept her because her broody mom was low hen and they were buddies. The broody died this fall and I was going to get rid of her.....but she was the only one laying for weeks. So she stays. Hatched 2018
