Helpful hints for building coops

in high school my younger brother played the trombone. we had an extra one in our house so I did learn how to play "Oh Danny Boy"
once in awhile we would sit outside and make hot rod noises ..

I tacked up the soffits today with hubby holding them on one side of the house. And planted another 2 dozen strawberry plants.
Plus I set 123 eggs! for the Easter hatch along.

I hope there is a swap to sell chicks about a week after Easter..

I have 2 brinsea octagonal, an incuview, a big home made incubator, another small Brinsea I haven't tried yet and a bunch of styrofoam ones. Plus broody chickens.

Hubby did the other side of the house today, putting up mesh on the soffits. I hauled out 3 wagon loads of Turkey bedding. About 3 more to go.

I looked at the link. Holy Scramboli, that's a chicken coop! Since this was several years ago now, how are things going? I definitely agree with your rule of two's, except for the time part, for us, that was about a factor of 4, but we're not as young as we used to be.

I might post a pic or 2 of my little 4x8 starter coop at some point. My 2 light Brahma hens and one white Jersey Giant roo seem happy enough there. They will be 1 year old in April. They started laying in December and average about 10 medium to large eggs a week between them.

I am sure glad I have that coop! Two of the original chickens have died, the one in my profile pic was my favorite but I am glad I have 10 left and getting 4-6 eggs a day in these uncertain times. I am in So Cal and there is virulent newcastle disease in my county so no chicks to be bought. I have a friend with a rooster in her flock and I am planning to get some fertile eggs.
