I started out with 8 styrofoam incubators. I also built one but it didn't work very well.
I graduated to 3 sportsmans for a few years. I did custom hatching for other people, too. That became old because people don't realize that not EVERY egg hatches,, also some eggs brought to me were way beyond hatching time. I couldn't get some people to bring a few eggs often instead of collecting them for weeks..
I had one repeat customer who would bring over 500 eggs at a time. He had a very large flock of chickens and his hatch rate was good..
He raised them to about fryer size and sold them for $5.oo/each to the Asians around here..
I also had 4 Jamesway incubators. they each held several hundred eggs. I only had one set up. had a few hundred eggs in it and the we had a m
massive power failure.. It ran off of 220V.

Yep I Used to shower before I went to town... I decided it's better nowadays to shower and throw the clothes in the washer when I get home. If I smell those people will stay away... and washing when I get home gets rid of germs

I had 2 cabinet incubators, one for hatching. Used to sell common breed chicks at hatch for $1 each. But that was long ago.

for a few years I collected my guinea eggs and a friend gave me lots of her guinea eggs.
for those years, we sold over 300 keets per season. $3.oo/each..
I hatched 120 turkey eggs for one guy.
I had peacocks. I hatched a few of their eggs.
Got way behind on my geese one year. had 72 eggs that I did not get into the incubators.
I ended making omelettes out of them. I used 6 eggs for each omelette. then I stacked them up like pancakes and fed them gradually to the chickens..
the last year that I did large scale hatching, I ended up with 72 muscovy ducks that didn't sell by fall..
Annie and I butchered 10 per weekend until we had them all in a freezer. She said, NO MORE DUCKS !! :lau
