I am really cutting up today.
I cut up two quarts of rhubarb pieces for a pie.. It is in the oven and almost done. it smells sooo good ..
I cut up 65 skapes like green beans for making pesto. that is a whole colander full.
I have to blanch them for one minute.
Annie made meat loaf. that kitchen is a busy place when it rains.

I pulled the integration pen out today because it needs repair before I use it again.

I also replaced the plastic net on the maternity ward with chicken wire and set it up to receive a broody tonight. I'm going to give Black-Yellow a shot since it would be better to have a broody I can handle but I won't break Mocha until I find out if Black-Yellow will accept the new nest.

today we rode through the zoo on our way home from my neck therapy.
first we saw turkeys, then geese in a field, a deer at the edge of a field and we had to stop and let two badgers cross the road.
Ha, sounds like your yard lol

Today i only saw one deer. Yesterday i saw 19!!!

Got totally chewed up by bugs while i was collecting rocks at a park. Took a pill to ease the itching, slept all day. Doing chores at 1 am, feels like temperature is 77°! Sweating so much, my glasses were fogging up. This is crazy!

Bugs must really find you delicious.
So far this summer, I haven't been bitten by a mosquito. Deer flies like me, though. And there is another fly that is smaller than a house fly. They don't hurt too much, but they hit you in small swarms.
Yesterday I took Ollie and hauled two tubs of garlic up near the house.
They really needed water. All containers always need water. I cut the skapes off but didn't save them this time. I pulled the few weeds and also about a half dozen black walnut seedlings that the squirrels must have planted.
Annie finished this round of mowing. after the rain tomorrow she can start all over again.
we had a short period of rain. It didn't amount to much.
I had to take the tip off of two more grape vines. and there are tiny grapes on a couple of vines.

Aart, we finally got around to using the hedge clipper. It cuts grass and thistles very well. Annie even cut down a small sumach tree. It cannot cut one inch branches because they don't fit between the spacer for the teeth. Imagine a sickle mower with guards.
We are supposed to get some significant rain today. I hope that's all we get. the radar looks ominous .
