Helpful hints for building coops

I installed another window in my original coop, tacked on hardware cloth. Built and installed a frame. Thinking about adding poop trays to make it easier to clean.

I had enough of diapers raising my boys. Besides, i don't like filling landfills with chicken diapers.

I am lucky to get my own clothes washed. And if the chickens all wore diapers, there would not be any fertile eggs!

Two more brooders cleaned today. It was a lovely 71° most of the day. Also sprayed the other half of the original coop! Hope to move birds in tomorrow.

I fiddle with the lawnmower a little each day. I am getting farther into it than I intended to. but when I meet a challenge, I don't have the good sense to walk away..

Stayed in so far today, 92°, feels like 100°. I did come up with a plan to build a coop or feeding area from repurposed ramps a neighbor gave me.

Poop trays make cleaning the coop a BREEZE! I'd say 90% of the poop is on the tray, since they spend the day outside. It takes a minute to scoop the poop, and with PDZ, you don't smell anything. Except when I open the bucket.

I took the day off yesterday. Went to my sister's for a neighborhood "kids" reunion. I haven't seen some of them since Jr High. about twenty showed up and most with their spouses.
The youngest was 71 , she was a spouse to the youngest man there. I think the oldest "kid" was around 90. It was a great time.
I am still tearing parts off of the lawn mower.
Had to take the battery mount and muffler off to get at the valve cover.
