*sigh*

We had to change phone plans because the previous provider jacked the prices up on us. Which means new phones.

So, once again, I am annoying my children by complaining that it's NOT an upgrade if what I used to be able to find with only 1 touch/click is now 4 layers deep in submenus.

They're always saying that I hate new technology. This is not true.

I hate new technology that isn't an IMPROVEMENT. I don't care how much more powerful something is or how many million features it now has if it makes the stuff I actually want to do and the features I use all the time harder to use.

I was just having this discussion with a friend who is still at working, where I retired.
New equipment and software is horrible than what was there when I left 10 yrs ago. The old boilers, air handlers and chillers were from the 1970s. Upgraded to computer in the 90s.

I worked today but still managed to put in almost 3 hours on my mother's Christmas present -- a stained glass panel of an elephant. My own design, adapted from a coloring page.

This is my color concept:

I found some beautiful glass, even though it's just the Hobby Lobby stuff.

There is a woman I worked with who is a VERY talented artist. I was totally gobsmacked when I saw her pen-and-ink work.

I never thought of "quiet little Anna in the mounting department" the same way again. I was very touched when she gave DH and me a pen and ink drawing before she left for England to get married.

She illustrated a book (very dark story) and I'm hoping it's just the first of many.
