Day one of the hoop coop build , i got the site pretty much cleared and decided i am going to put the long part of the coop facing uphill because the site is on a slant and that way the roof will drain down hill. The other way it would have looked lopsided. I pounded in 3 posts. They are a bit crooked, but the best i could do holding up the post and pounding it in myself. The hoop coop will be 200"× 8' due to the size of the cattle panels.
So i am excited to have started my coop. I got a late start as i slept in this morning, but i think i made good progress considering i only got a few hours in. I was also collecting dead wood and tending 2 fires. Husband wanted to burn another pile but i said i didn't feel it was cleared up around it enough to be safe so that will wait for another day.
Tomorrow i will go buy some pressure treated wood and call the mill to order some other lumber.
The area does not look very cleared out here, but there is plenty of space for the coop.
