i just burn news papers one crumpled up page at a time.
My Dad used to hold a big burning twist of newspapers up in the fireplace flue to get air moving up it.
He also had the chimney inspected and cleaned every year.

Hubby went up there and said there is a bunch of black stuff plugging it up so i guess it is creosote. They must have been burning pine because there is so much of it down. In any case, a chimney sweep has been called. I almost think it should be taken down and totally reamed out but what do i know?
Any way i am super happy because i got the check in the mail for the gun rebate! Happy dance!

I found the winter wall hanging!

I would do with my stove like your dad did with his fireplace, but my stove is totally brick lined so I can't reach up in there.
I do the same with my fireplace as your dad did.

I got a lot cleaned up outside.
hauled a half bucket load to the burn pile.

cleaned out the new shed and stored a few things in there. I left the chop saw set up in there. I don't use it much, but it is ready for a short quick job when I need it..

put the back blade onto the tractor.
smoothed out a little pile of dirt.

dragged the magnet around to see if I could pick up and stray nails. found 3 .
