what's a badge ??
never heard of that..

I did take the jointer out to the garage.
I ran it for about 20 minutes. took a 4 foot piece of oak and straightened it out. nice smooth cuts..

the gauges I ordered came yesterday.
turned out to be not what I expected.
I actually expected the depth gauge to turn on when I put the battery in. was I expecting too much ?? I tried 3 other batteries that I know are good. none of them turned the gauge on..
it is going back.
then the angle finder gauge doesn't find angles. it is going back also..
I wanted to set the knives with them.
I ended up doing it "old school" way..

Hi, we are at the beginning of a warm up.
it is sad when we look forward to 23F as warm

I went and bought 8 rare earth magnets today. I am going to make my own jig for setting the blades in the jointer.
I think I have one figured out.

sold 2 puppies already.. when they are old enough to go, that is.
had another inquiry today..
pups' eyes are opening. I will be taking pictures probably on Sunday..

Ooh, love puppies!
I gave in and put a heat lamp in the coop. I have several SS that look bad from what i suspect is Mereks. I figured the cold might be the last straw.

Cappy, I poked "like" on your post, not that I am happy about your sick chickens, I use "like" just to verify that I read a post..

My last guinea died a couple of days ago.
kind of a blessing. he adapted OK to being alone, but the cold was just too much for him.

-15F as we speak, yet this morning.
still no snow. \
the snowmobilers are not happy about that.
the skiers don't mind. we have a large ski hill near us, (granite peak) formerly rib mt.
they have been making snow since Thanksgiving..
the lakes are frozen over. so on some of them you can drive out with your pu truck

I have to go and make a small hardwood block. about 1"x3"x7" . that will be the start of my blade setting jig..

keep warm and dry,,

well, I did go out to the shop. didn't light a fire. wasn't planning to stay out too long. and I didn't. just long enough to cut a board to length and width and joint it smooth and flat.
ran it through the planer and came back into the house.. my hands were cold and they hurt.. a few seconds under the hot water faucet and i am fine. took longer to warm up my feet, though. I just naturally have cold feet.

I got the board all marked for drilling six
ea. 3/4" noles to glue the magnets into.

I just came in from feeding Zeke. I decided it is still too cold to work in the shop. tomorrow is supposed to be warmer by far. I am patient .

good Sunday between football games.
I finished the jig. just waiting for the glue to dry.
for s==ts and giggles, I tried starting the tractor. It popped right off.. what a difference some above zero temps will do,
I was going to take pictures of the puppies, but first I have to charge up the camera. their eyes aren't all the way open anyhow.. they were two weeks old on Friday.
