I agree, we had a rush through spring.
sort of went from -20 below to +90 in just a couple of weeks.
our plum trees and apple trees blossomed, but not for long. we had little moisture while the blossoms were on. I hope they didn't just drop off.. we did have plenty of bee activity..

I woke up at 3:33 AM yesterday morning.
awful pain in my lower abdoman ..right side. thought it was gas. tylenol did nothing for the pain.. called my DD , who is a RN. she said go to the walk in right now.. So by 8 AM i was at the walk in. they sent me to the ER.. I stayed in the ER until 4 PM.. Cat scan. no appendicitis. but they did find the cause of my pain. I have a 4mm kidney stone waiting to be born. they told me that it wouldn't be long due..
like sitting on a time bomb..
I passed a smaller one several years ago.
THAT one was no fun at all.. can't imagine what this one will feel like..
It is always fun to have something to look forward too, eh ?? LOL

It sounds strange to have someplace south of us being cold..

what kind of stone did you have last time? calcium oxalate or uric acid stones?

Hubby has suffered from kidney stones since he was a teenager. He has what's called sponge kidneys. Gets a lot of stones of all sizes. Sometimes they have to break them up so he can pass them.
I am sorry you suffer with them too.

I feel like a bit of a wuss. I'm saying its cold when really its between 14-17C today (57-62f)
Its still chilly to me.

My husband has been collecting more supplies for building. This time a massive pile of tin roofing from the town school.

My front yard currently looks like a building supply yard. Its piles of timber and tin, all recycled.

I'm hoping that come Saturday my husband can help me dig the holes for the posts and put together the base framing.

Until then, I need to make some nest boxes, and maybe trim the rusted through ends of some corrugated iron.

I use a 4inch side grinder with a narrow metal cutting wheel when cutting steel roofing/siding .
they say to use a metal shear, but hand nippers takes a lot of muscle.
cold is relative. If you are used to high temps, then the temps you are having feels cold. but if you are having minus degree weather, then even 30F feels good..

It hardly ever gets to below freezing here, doesn't snow. It was noteworthy a couple of years ago when snow fell on the top of the nearest mountain.

I was planning on using the angle grinder with a cutting disc on it. No way I could use a hand tool for that job.

I use a very thin metal cutting disc.
I also tried a diamond disc. for the price it was better to buy a handful of the cheaper discs..
they are about as thick as the cardboard used in breakfast cereal boxes..

Take your time, plan it out and try to enjoy the experience. Here’s my first coop build, raised coop with run. My first chicks are 2 weeks old. They had their first experience outside in the run and loved it
