I am still working on my latest coop! Hubby put the door on while i was gone. Tonight i put a couple more pieces on the door i made and then the wire. I will post a picture tomorrow, i worked until after dark on the coop tonight.
Then this evening i made a wind baffle for the pop door, after i put my Polish in their half of the new coop. Yay!
And i built the divider for the California Valley Quail duplex. Just needs paint and wire.

Some of us have coop Hopes in the future but enjoy keeping up with what folks are up to.... I always enjoy seeing someone more ambitious than me get something done.
I seem to always be waiting on something, funds is a common waiting on here.... but ambition, timing and co-operation from family members have also been considerations for projects.... or maybe I just want too many things.
Well, sounds good to me. You need something to look forward to.

well alicia, if you like people with ambition, you should have been here today.
I don't know where it came from, but I got a spurt of ambition and did some work outside.
I picked up the tools/junk in the yard and mowed some weeds that I never got around to all summer. rototilled the new row for the grapes.. cut a bunch of elderberry branches and trimmed them and got about 3 dozen shoots potted in two pots.. I will transplant them in a few weeks if they sprout roots..
I never tried green elderberry shoots before.
I cleaned a sheltered spot for the old rider mower and put it away for the winter..

Good work!

Today i put more perches in both sides of the coop. Stapled more hardware cloth on places that needed it, and screwed two boards together to span the run. That way i can staple on the welded wire all the way across.

today I rototilled one of the rows for eldeberries
I transplanted 2 plants. I think it is still too early, but I thought I would give it a try.
then I mowed about 3/4 of the grass.
didn't have a garden this year, took the mower over it. some of those weeds were like sapling trees.. daughter wants to plant sweet corn next year. I will get the ground ready and turn the weeding over to her..

Yesterday I 'cleaned' the garage, with help from a friend who did most the schlepping.
I have mini pallets all around the edge of garage because of the occasional flooding and I haven't moved them for 4-5 years, maybe longer, I CRS. After 3 floodings in a week this summer I expected to find more of a mess that I did...rotten pallet bottoms, soaked mouse mess, mold, none of that was there, everything was pretty dry. Found a few mouse nests, but they were old. Also expected my old golf club bag to be filled with mice and spiders, rusty shafts, rotten grips and clothing...nope dry as a whistle and in good shape. Too bad I can't use them, too 'crippled'. Anyway....

So everything got moved off the pallets, swept and vacuumed the floor, and most put back in a more organized fashion...didn't take near the time I thought it would, so my buddy also had time to drag crap out from under the coop shed. I was afraid I'd find rat sign, have had a few around this summer, but just saw one mouse, with 8 babies attached, scurrying off. Tossed a bunch of ancient snow fence onto the burn pile, thought those would be full of rodent nests too, and rearranged all the lumber stored under there.

....and I found some aged wood chips for the chicken run, going to pick up those on Friday. It was a good day, more 'done' than in a long time.

art, can I borrow your friend ?? free room and board..
I suppose today you are going to set a chair in the garage and just sit and enjoy all of your hard work..
I have an odor in my garage, I think it is some wheat germ fermenting.
yesterday I finished mowing everything, and then some.. tried to fit the mower between the coop and lean to. just a tad too wide to fit.. If I fold the discharge chute up, it might go.. I didn't think of that until late last night.. the other mower fits nicely..

No, he's mine all mine!! :D ....and it's hard to get him out here.
No chair sitting, still stuff to clear up.
Big thing today is repairing a concrete hemisphere I cracked with the mower deck this year. I had carefully stored the pieces in the wheel barrow and now need to either toss it or fix it cause I need the wheel barrow. So dug out the rolling 'big sphere' table, some tools, and materials.(this *might* prompt me to clear out some more of the detritus in the concrete studio) Mixed up a test batch of cement to see if it's still viable....could be fun!

try original Gorilla Glue..
I fixed a clay chimney flue with it a few years ago. still standing..
if it sticks, WD40 if it is loose, Gorilla Glue.
Eh..maybe as a last resort.
Portland cement and admix and mesh on the inside should do the trick.
Not the first one I've had to repair.
