Art, it looks like you will be shoveling more snow tomorrow.
I am in the forecasted 5" to 8" zone..
this will be our first decent snow of this season.. I don't mind the snow, but I can do without the wind..
I know..calling for 6-10 and a lot of wind.... then 2-3 days of below zero.
Hope the power stays on as my firewood shed doors are frozen shut,
something I neglected to fix after the ice storm we had a few days back.

Looks like I'll have a couple days to clean up before it starts to rain ,
tho that forecast will surely change.

Sheesh, that's tough! I sure hope your power stays on too! Will be keeping you in my thoughts.

good morning, the storm fizzled . we got less than four inches.
I had to go into a seldom used shed to check how much straw I had. that door was frozen shut . I had to chisel some ice away from the bottom of it. Now I left it wide open in case I have to go in there again.
( 2 bales of straw )..
DD#2 boyfriend is going to plow us out with his pickup truck.
I am not about to ride on the tractor in minus zero temperatures..
Art, I hope the storm fizzles for you, too..

You folks holding up okay aart and jvls?
Thanks for asking....gonna whine :D

Agggh...still snowing and windy here, supposed to snow and blow all day.
Snow is starting to kinda stick to run roof mesh, and run has at least a foot of snow in it, haven't had the energy to clear it as usual. May have to wade in there and clear the roof despite -5°F temps and -30°F wind chills. Not a fun day.
Will be glad when the vortex is over...then I'll have a one day to clean things up before temps rise well above freezing and it rains for 4 days! :he
The thaw will be good to reduce height of snow piles, but flooding is an issue....then ice when temps drop back down.
At least the power is on, so it could be much worse

I hired the driveway plowed.. first time ever..
I don't have to go outside, so the -22's and the -11's don't bother me. anything -5 and above is not so bad.. as long as the wind isn't blowing..
on a positive note: several of my air layers in pots are sprouting leaves.. grapes, apples and mulberries.. the sunporch's temp goes down to about +40F during the really cold nights.. it doesn't seem to bother the plants.
Annie's Christmas cactus bloomed very nicely for her this year..
