We had a big windstorm today, 50 mph winds, and gusts who knows? But three live trees fell over, luckily not on anyone! Missed the buildings too!
Glad no one was hurt!

We worked in the front yard today, the bark dust we put in last year sure made weeding easier to do. The bulbs are coming along and the perennials are starting to wake up. We pruned the giant rose that shades the front porch, just need to dump some fertilizer at the base of it and keep it well watered.

Got to get the raised beds tidied and filled with showy vegetables. There won't be time to do a proper vegetable garden this year so we just want to make the yard look like a gardeners paradise.

Moving the house sale from November to June is really putting the spurs to us.

So we are now the proud owners of 1/3 of an acre and 1/2 of a house!

So tell me if this is just me. I know I only a 37 weeks of working left and now everything that was kinda annoying before is driving me totally crazy! Nothing has changed, no one is any more idiotic than they were before, it's just all suddenly much harder to put up with.

I have 13 weeks left and I'm itching to leave! I was not feeling well last week and I took 2 days off! I did spend one of them asleep, and wasn't well the second. So it wasn't cheating, right?

I hear you and agree! I'm thinking of taking a couple of days off for house prep. We want to put the house up for sale in June at the latest now and my retire date has been moved to July 15 so now I'm 16 weeks out and getting a little frantic.

I don’t envy you! I moved a year ago into this house, and I’m so happy to have that behind me.

I worry a lot about income, probably unnecessarily, but I have some steady freelance work that pays well when I get off my butt and do it! Somehow I’m always working quickly right up against the deadline.

All I want to do is plant vegetables and fruit, get chickens and gather eggs, and get lots of exercise. Oh! And time with friends!

Good luck with the sale. If you have a great real estate agent, s/he can suggest the best changes to make. Mine added a lot to my eventual sale price.

Every time we move I swear "Never again!"

Add fishing and that's my plan as well. Going to try and do some serious felting and sell it for some of that extra income.

He was just over here and very politely kicked our butts. We might have to pay for some help to get everything done in time :he

that's the way it goes, you fix and fix and improve so that you can sell. then after it is all up to par, you move..
I tried moving a snow pile today . it didn't move.. it was solid ice underneath.
then Annie pointed out that the rear tire was going flat on OLlie..
still can't get to the tool shed. so no compressor.

Dang man! Are you sure you didn't get moved to the ice planet Hoth?

The goldfinches are starting to show their full color. We had 6 hummingbirds on the feeder at once the other evening. We cleared the lemon balm and snow berries (NEVER allow snow berries in your garden) back to give some light to the bleeding hearts which have just started peeking out of the soil.

good day from Nanuk of the North.
got up to low 40's today.
I got the overhead door open. going to leave it open so the ice can melt away.
gassed up Ollie. fiddled with the valve core on the leaking rear tire. I think I have the leak stopped. GS Kalib climbed over the ice mountain and retrieved my compressor for me. figured out the tamper proof gidget on the new gas can spout and managed to get the gas into Ollie's tank. have plans on how to bypass (destroy) that safety lever..
grass is showing in the field in spots.
the robins are here in full force. they say that the snow has to fall on the robin's back 3 times before spring can arrive . we have two more snows to go..
