in the tree world, it is no fun falling if you don't have a target..
My friend up in Rhinelander had a couple pines come down. one landed on his garage right above the service door. the tree is removed,
(chunked up) but the door is jammed. and the truss is broken..
I went out and put the gas tank and carburetor on to the post hole digger.
It would have started first or second pull if I hadn't forgotten to let the choke off..
once I let the choke off it started first pull..
I might still have to add a high throttle spring, but it seems fine without it, so far.
snow is melting like crazy today.. go snow !
...jiminwisc,,,
I bet you will be glad to see the snow melted away. Today is our average last frost day, makes me happy. Though it will be in the 30s tonight.

I watched a program about the flooding in Nevada, tonight..
it makes our flooded basement not even worth mentioning..
a bunch of local farmers hauled several semi loads of hay to Nev. no charge..
probably only a dent in how much they need, but it helped, some..
Notre Dame is still burning..
they are already talking about rebuilding.
that will be a real project..
I was very impressed by that cathedral when i went there.

61F today.. it really put a dent into the snow..
I needed something to do outside, so I started the rider lawnmower and backed it out of the garage. then I dragged out the two cylinder 3HP air compressor. somebody gave it to me years ago.. I don't even know/remember who it was..
I never tried it out. it is splattered with paint
I plugged it into a handy strip, it tripped the breaker on the strip.. I figured the pistons are sticky or rusted from sitting for so many years. so I removed the safety shroud and turned the flywheel with a socket wrench.
It went surprisingly easily.. I spun it by hand a few times and could hear the valves working. so I plugged it into a 20Amp socket. perfect. I do not have to do anything to it . I let it pump all the way to max pressure.. it shut off and there were no air leaks.. so I hooked up an air hose and the impact driver. everything is AOK..
now i am up to 4 good compressors of varying degrees of power and portability .
IDK what I will do tomorrow..

I moved the young chickens into a coop today, kept the pop door shut so they get used to the coop before i let them out into the run. These are birds i hope will be broody for me when they get older. Bantam cochins, a silkie, and Mille Fleur D'uccles.

I have a half dozen 24oz cornish hens soaking in brine overnight.
first time using this recipe.
Annie bought some sturdy paper plates.
She said that our daughters never offer to help with the dishes after these meals, they can eat off of paper plates..
I pity anyone who makes a comment about the paper plates.. LOL
we are having just wonderful weather.
sorry for you folks who aren't..
Hope those tornadoes stay far away..

I always thought that baby turkeys looked like Walt Disney characters..
waiting for the coffee to get perked, then after a cuppa, I will start the dressing..
sweet potatoes, corn, asparagus, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, cranberries and ham for those who don't want chicken.(DD#1)..
the high water in the basement must have forced mice to to to higher ground.
Yesterday I caught 5 mice in the kitchen next to the refrigerator.
Happy Easter.
Another fine day on tap here in wisc.
