there was still just enough seepage so that we could flush the toilet, but not 2 or 3 times in succession.
If it's yellow let it mellow......

Raining like hell here but all the drains are working...
...so no flooded garage or chicken run(at least in the dry part under the coop).

no rain here,,,yet.
Yesterday was a beeauutiful day. sunny and cool.
We did some clean up in the yard.
I mowed the back yard and even did a little weed whacking.
Today is feed the burn pile day. branches, old wooden recliner lawn chair. Old vanity from the bathroom.
then once it starts raining, it will last until Thursday..

Rained this morning so I'm glad I got the lawn mowed yesterday. I managed to avoid running the mower over 2 praying mantises. This is the only area they are native to so they're still a cool surprise to see.

Moved more stuff into the garage/shed. It's going to take some time to get it all balanced out. I found the rice-cooker so we have a batch of rice with Chinese sausage going right now. It smells so good.

Yup, Lakeside Oregon is the new house where we came to camp and fish for years. Portland is where we have lived for years and are in the process of selling.

Got a compost question. The "soil" here is all sand, rock, and a tiny bit of dirt, so I've started a couple of compost piles out back that are made up of kitchen scraps, dried grass clippings, a lot of horse manure mixed with wood shavings, and some shredded paper fiber. My question is, should I add some of the sand as well? I figure I need more "brown" as well so I'm, watching for leaf piles, but do you think a bale of something from the feed store would work? I'm in a hurry to build usable compost to have something (anything!) to put into the raised beds.

I have heard that lucerne straw composts down really well and contains nitrogen. It can be used as mulch on garden beds too though it doesn't last very long. Expired mushroom compost improves the soil too.

to me, getting up really early for a stress test would be stressful.
For my last stress test, the small group of nurses put me on a tread mill. I told them that it never works for me, I always get a shot.
Of course they always know better, don't they ? they ran me until I couldn't go anymore. (that was back in the day when I was a whole man).
finally I told them that I was going to let go of the grab bar. so they stopped the machine.
then my heart began to palpitate .
Then did they ever panic.
They sent for my Dr. He came in and after a while, gave me a shot.
