Yes, a lot of relief and a lot of sadness.
I'm gonna miss him, but really glad his suffering is over.
It went well, just as planned.
I'm glad it went according to plan Aart. :hugs

We lowered our greyhound in using a sheet and wrapped it around her like a shroud went she went to her final rest. Kind of like tucking her into bed.

We did that too with one of our dogs, it was a good wool blanket but he deserved a nice warm wrap.

Here is my collection of old saws.
No, I never have used any of them.
We salvaged these out of Annie's grandpa's barn when they tore it down.

Cool collection Jim. Was the culprit a yellow jacket? I so hate those. I know they have a purpose in the grand scheme of things but not on my property.

WoW! Those are some saws Jim! Certainly worth displaying, very attractive. I've only seen pictures of those types before. :)
:thumbsup

Thanks all.
The blanket worked perfectly, both to fold and hold his legs and to move him from table to sled and then into grave. The floodgates finally opened this morning when he wasn't there for all the morning rituals...it's gonna take time.
I must remember that....
We know from the minute we let them into our hearts,
that one day they will break them.
The joy we gain by loving them will,
in time, once again outweigh the sadness they can bring to our lives.

we found out why we couldn't move that large plastic cooler. I had my tractor tire chains in there.
I must not be too far gone, 'cause that made me

I didn't actually see the bee. I had my hand over it. but there was a smallish one buzzing around me all day. the kind that builds their nest in the hood of my tractor. I think they are paper wasps.? this morning my hand still itches.
now it is more of an irritant than pain.
Aussie, now you have seen even more pictures of them..If you come visit me, I will let you try them all out..
The snow didn't develop like the man said it would. we got barely enough to see. the sun will be up shortly and then the snow will be gone.

One of my June chickens dropped dead for no apparent reason the other day. Made me sad, she never even laid an egg. No marks on her anywhere. One of my Gold laced polish pullets. I was wondering if she got pecked on the head or something. She was still warm when I found her. :hit
