won't air get into those holes and dry the paint?
we just had our third 40F day in a row.
Sunny and bright. I went without a jacket.
Finished up at the dentist. final cleaning. gums are sore .. still have to go to a surgeon to have a tooth pulled in March. He will also remove a wart like growth in my mouth.

No, the lid covers the holes.

I doubled up on any type of security i used, ex. If it was fence i did inner and outer fence of two difrent sizes, if i did a door to a coup i flap door that could me partialy open or fully closed , my latches are all doubled up. But all that said i made my housing very easy to get in and out of.
Welcome to the thread! Good ideas, have back up.

my pop door is just inside the fence. I rigged up a pulley and rope and put extra weight on the door. so I can open the door from outside the fence without having to walk all the way around the coop inside the run..
for the "people" door into the coop, I found a steel door with a window in it..(free)
( the window stays dirty most of the time)

Yeah, if chickens did windows...I would bring them in the house.

I got another side of the run finished today.

And worked on making the space for the door.

I am currently building my biggest coop ever and thought about how many newbies are trying to build their first coop ever. Thinking of all you struggling to learn the use of tools and with questions on your mind about planning, i thought it would be helpful to share what i have learned and let others do the same. Even small tips can ease frustration in the building process. If you just want to share pictures of your progress, have at it. Let's share and encourage each other.
The usual back yard chicken rules apply. Please play nice, no need to be rude. Everyone has to learn sometime . Welcome to my coop building thread.
Elevate a chicken coop off the ground at least 1 foot for many reasons. An elevated coop ensures air can circulate around the coop, can prevent flooding in flood-prone areas, and prevents rats and mice from nesting.

fluff, what part of the world do you live at?
Curious about that too @Fluffyflufffluff
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!
