I finally got the playhouse coop finished and put the chickens in it tonight! Quite excited to see how they like it.

Playhouse lane!

I gave the chicks a bowl of the fine sand we have all over the yard and they lost their fluffy little minds. I finally took it out of the coop to make sure they didn't eat too much of it but they had such a good time with it.

It got down to 37 last night but it was beautiful and warm today. DP and I bit the bullet and cut each others hair. We both wear our hair pretty short and it turned out pretty well.

You folks still getting snow have my sympathy, I can't imagine what that must be like.

to slow them down, give them a chunk of sod.
make them work for it a little..

I gave them a chunk of sod that was full of the sandy almost soil we have here and they started to dust bath in it. That's why I gave them the bowl of sand. One of them was attempting to dust bath the first day I had them and that was on paper towels. I got them some chick grit so I could start spoiling them with bugs, worms, and other bribes to make them easier to catch.

made it up to 40F by noon. I am thinking of going outside to try to run some of the roof pieces through the jointer and planer.
got word today. my hip surgery is called off until further notice.. who knows when ??
I am sort of relieved. I had mixed emotions about spending some time in a hospital right now..
