today I put the drum onto the cement mixer.
dumped in a 4 gallon clump of compost.
turned it on and within minutes it was all broken up and fluffy. so I dumped two more buckets in and they turned into fluff quickly, too.
so I went to the shed and got some spagnum moss and white beads. dumped about 3 gallons of each in and it all mixed really fast.
One of the 4 packs of tomatoes has 6 plants in it. I have 10 one gallon pots ready .I will add nutrients to the pots..

Hmmmmm...wonder if you could rig a 1/2" hardware cloth cylinder to the opening to sift out a finer planting medium for seeds.

Aart, that seems like something that could be worked out.
when I was a kid we had a neighbor who had a wooden frame with hdwe cloth that he tossed shovelfuls of dirt on to remove rocks and clumps..
I don't plant seeds, Never had much luck with them.
today my nephew showed up at noon.
by 4 PM we had all the trusses up and the purlins attached.
It turned cold and the wind never let up.
I will take pictures tomorrow.
