I was just starting a post to my sisters when DW called down and said it was thundering in the distance and clouds were gathering.
So I went out and loaded 12 pails of tomato plants into the tractor bucket and covered the ones left outside with a tarp.
The thunder came loud and clear. The rain came gently, No hail. It was all over in an hour.
the sun is shining again.
I will take the tractor out of the garage but leave the pails in the bucket. More storms are forecast.
Annie saw an animal run into the garage just before the storm came. doesn't know what it was, saw only the tail . I imagine it is a cat. It can stay around and clean out the red squirrels if it wants to.

my cloth pots are made of ground cover fabric.
I don't think being in water would hurt them much..
I got the four Rutgers tomatoes in their forever homes. I think I will do two Roma's in cloth and two in the 5 gal pails. compare them that way..these are called "smart pots"
DD put a just sprouted buttercup squash in the box. I will put that into a container and see how it goes..
still no rain here. 75F already at 10AM. humid.
When it comes I hope there will be no hail with it.

I think I got all your rain. I wish I could send it to you

we are not drought stricken yet.. you can keep your rain until I need it.
the apple tree is just coming into full bloom.
the plum trees have a couple of days until their full bloom will be overwith.
the elderberry bush is struggling back. It was decimated by the town idiot with his oversized weed whacker two summers ago.
It was in full bloom when he did it. idiot !!
but he missed all of the WEEDS on the other side of the driveway completely..

I planted periwinkles and iris today. Worked on attaching the wire on the two raised beds today. I think they need more support, so I cut some and painted them.
